Transmission Rebuild in Rome, GA
Service:
Transmission
Location:
Rome, Georgia
Date:
June 2025 – April 2026
Scope
Replacing old wood H-frame structures with a mix of single-pole delta framing using both concrete and steel poles.
In June 2025, Service Electric crews began a full rebuild of 12 miles of transmission line near Rome, GA.
The scope included replacing old wood H-frame structures with a mix of single-pole delta framing using both concrete and steel poles. With 100 structures in total, the project marked a significant infrastructure upgrade for the region.
One of the most unique challenges on this job was the requirement to return the line to service within four days at any point. This meant crews needed to plan carefully and work in small, controlled sections—ensuring they could stop, backfill, and re-energize on short notice if the customer called the line back into service. It was a level of operational flexibility that demanded constant coordination, precise execution, and a steady pace.
