emergency transformer repair TO meet re-energization deadline
Scope
Quickly mobilized a Tech Services team to assess and repair a transformer bushing issue, supporting successful re-energization of the substation.
One of our customers experienced a bushing failure at a substation in Maryland, following work performed by another contractor. With a planned outage underway and no available support, the customer team was in a bind as they faced the real possibility of missing their re-energization deadline.
The full Tech Services team arrived on-site just two days later and quickly diagnosed the problem: the draw lead on the bushing had been installed improperly. From there, they removed the bushing, opened the transformer tank, drained a portion of the oil, and began the repair.
The customer remained on-site throughout the process and expressed their appreciation for Service Electric’s professionalism, transformer expertise, safety practices, and attention to detail. The crew remained on-site through the evening to ensure all bushings tested correctly, ultimately allowing the customer to successfully re-energize on schedule.
This emergency response showcases the skill, professionalism, and responsiveness of our Tech Services team.
